The CE mark is a product safety certification mark of the European Union. Whether it is produced in a local EU company or a product produced outside the EU, in order to sell the product to the EU market, a CE mark must be affixed to indicate that the product meets the requirements. The basic requirements of the EU Directive on Technology Coordination and Standardization (hereinafter referred to as the “New Method”). Products that do not have the CE certification mark shall not be listed for sale. Products that have been affixed with the CE mark to enter the market will be ordered to be reclaimed from the market if the safety requirements are not met. Continued violation of the CE certification mark will be restricted. or prohibit entry into the EU market or be forced to withdraw from the market.
CE certification process
1. The manufacturer (hereinafter referred to as the applicant) submits an initial oral or written application to the testing organization (hereinafter referred to as the laboratory);
2. The applicant fills in the application form and sends the application form, product instruction manual and technical documents to the laboratory (a prototype is required if necessary);
3. The laboratory determines the test standards and test items and quotes;
4. The applicant confirms the quotation and sends the sample and relevant technical documents to the laboratory;
5. The applicant provides technical documentation;
6. The laboratory issues a fee notification to the applicant, and the applicant pays the certification fee according to the charging notice request;
7. The laboratory conducts product testing and reviews technical documents;
8. If the test fails or the technical documents do not meet the requirements, the laboratory will notify the applicant in time;
9. The applicant makes improvements to the product or modifies the technical documentation;
10. The laboratory retests the improved product and reviews the revised documentation;
11. If a rectification or retesting fee is incurred, the laboratory will issue a supplemental fee notice to the applicant;
12. The applicant pays the fee according to the supplementary fee notification request;
13. The laboratory provides the applicant with a test report and a CE compliance certificate.
Technical documents required for CE certification
1. Product instruction manual;
2. Safety design documents (including key structural drawings, ie design drawings that reflect the distance, gap, number of insulation layers and thickness);
3. Product technical conditions (or corporate standards);
4. Product electrical schematic diagram;
5. Product wiring diagram;
6. List of key components or raw materials (please select products with European certification mark);
7. A copy of the complete machine or component certificate;
8. Other required information.
